From his early youth, he has shown an interest in the art of photography. He worked as an assistant to Chilean photographer Tito V\u00e1squez. In 1973, he left his home country to work in Oslo and London. In 1975, he established himself in Lisbon, where he opened his own photography studio, specializing in architecture, advertising, and book publishing.
