He has published sixteen books and earned several awards, including the Jos\u00e9 Saramago Literary Prize in 2009, the Fernando Namora Prize in 2021, and the GQ Prize. He has been shortlisted for many other awards, including the\u00a0European Literary Award,\u00a0the Fernando Namora Prize, the Oceanos Prize, and the PEN Club Award.
