Ricardo Araújo Pereira
Ricardo Araújo Pereira was born in Lisbon in 1974. He graduated in Communications and began his career as a journalist at Jornal de Letras. Since 1998, he has been working as a scriptwriter. In 2003, together with Miguel Góis, Zé Diogo Quintela and Tiago Dores, he formed the comedy group Gato Fedorento. He is the author and presenter of the weekly TV program Isto é gozar com quem trabalha on SIC, writes a weekly column in Expresso and is part of the panel of Programa cujo nome estamos legalmente impedidos de dizer, the successor to Governo Sombra on SIC Notícias.
His columns in the press have been collected in six books: Boca do Inferno (2007), Novas Crónicas da Boca do Inferno (APE Grand Prize for Chronicle 2009), A Chama Imensa (2010), Novíssimas Crónicas da Boca do Inferno (2013), Reaccionário com Dois Cês (2017), and Estar Vivo Aleija (2018). He has also published various volumes of the Mixórdia de Temáticas collection, which gather the scripts of his radio program, and an essay titled A Doença, o Sofrimento e a Morte Entram num Bar (2016, also published in Brazil). His collection of non-fiction titled Se não entenderes eu conto de novo, pá (Tinta-da-china, 2012) is also available in Brazil. He is also in charge of the Humor Literature collection at Tinta-da-china and a registered supporter of Sport Lisboa e Benfica.
