Fernando Ribeiro
Fernando Ribeiro was born in Lisbon, 1974, and raised in the neighbourhood of Brandoa, on the outskirts of Amadora.
In 1992, he started the Portuguese Heavy Metal band Moonspell, which celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2022.
Over the past three decades, the band has become the most internationally successful act in the history of Portuguese music, with thousands of records sold and tours across 5 continents.
In 2001, Fernando Ribeiro published his first book of poetry, Como Escavar um Abismo, followed by two more (As Feridas Essenciais and Diálogo de Vultos). He embraced his love of literature while studying Philosophy and has since continued to write fiction (Senhora Vingança, short stories, 2011) and for the press (TSF, Jornal de Leiria).
His new novel, Café Kanimambo, was released this year.
