José Maria Pimentel is not only the creator of the 45 Graus podcast, but also an economist, university professor, researcher and author. He graduated in Economics at the University of Coimbra, obtained a Master’s in International Economics and Finance from Tilburg University, in the Netherlands, and has an MBA from Católica Lisbon and Nova SBE («Lisbon MBA»). He has a career in finance and is a guest lecturer at ISCTE-IUL (previously at Nova SBE), where he is also pursuing a doctorate degree in Political Science, focusing on research into the quality of governance and institutions. In addition, he wrote the book Política a 45 Graus (Bertrand Editora), a reflection on contemporary politics (from ideological differences to the challenges of populism and polarization), using as a starting point some of the most striking conversations from his podcast.
