Teolinda Gersão
Teolinda Gersão studied and lived in Germany for three years, two in Brazil, and some time in Mozambique. She is the author of 19 books (novels and short stories) and her work is available in translation in 20 countries. She has received some of the most important Portuguese literary awards, most recently the Grande Prémio de Literatura dst and the Prémio Literário Guerra Junqueiro Lusofonia, both in 2023. She was shortlisted for the European Aristeion Prize, and in 2018, she received the Albert Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award in the United States of America. She was a writer in residence at the University of California, Berkeley. Some of her books have been adapted for the theater and cinema. After City of Ulysses, Prantos Amores e Outros Desvarios, Atrás da Porta de Outras Histórias, and Alice e Outras Mulheres, her most recent book is O Regresso de Júlia Mann a Paraty, 2021.
